Due Date of Professional Tax Payment in Telangana

If you reside in Telangana and are eligible to pay professional tax, you must compulsorily pay it on or before the 10th of every month. If you do not pay the tax amount within the specified time for any reason, the state government can impose a penalty on you.

Penalty for Late Payment of Professional Tax in Telangana

If you fail to make payment before the due date for any reason, it may result in a penalty ranging from 25% to 50% of the total tax due on you.

Persons who are Exempted from Paying Professional Tax in Telangana:

There are some persons in Telangana who are exempted from paying professional tax like:

  • All women who work under the Small Savings Directive or Mahila Pradhan Regional Savings Scheme.
  • Any person who is blind or disabled.
  • Badli textile industry workers.
  • Parents or guardians of children who are mentally handicapped.
  • Military personnel, under the Air Force Act, 1950; Army Act 1950; Navy Act 1957

Conclusion

If you are a salaried individual, as stated under Article 276 (2) of the Indian Constitution, your employer will deduct this professional tax as per the predetermined slab rate. However, for other professionals, you have to deposit professional tax in Telangana yourself before the due date of every month.
