Procedure

  1. Enter Contact Details

    • Go to Flipkart Seller registration.

    • Click on "Start Selling."

    • Enter your mobile number, authenticate with OTP, and give an email address. Time: ~10-20 minutes

    • Expected Result: A basic seller account is created, and the seller onboarding dashboard becomes visible.

  2. Enter GSTIN or PAN

    • You will see a prompt asking:

    • What do you want to sell on Flipkart?

      • All Categories: GSTIN required.
      • Books alone: Only PAN verification could be necessary.

    • Time: Real time when filling in the form.

  1. Create a Strong Password

    • Create a strong password (at least 8 characters, including symbols, upper- and lowercase letters).

    • Time: ~5 minutes.

  2. Verify Email Address

    • After signing in, navigate your seller dashboard.

    • Next to the email, there is a verification button that is clicked.

    • The email sent contains a link which needs to be clicked to confirm. Time: Minutes

  3. Enter Your Signature.

    • Flipkart requires your digital signature:

    • Select (autogenerated signature) create.

    • Or "Draw" (to draw with a mouse or draw with a touchscreen).

    • Time: ~5 minutes.

  4. Selection of store and pickup information.

    • Your display name (screen name to customers).

    • Store description on Flipkart (not compulsory, but it builds brand trust).

    • Pickup address, including pin code and location.

    • Example of a store description:

    • "Welcome to UrbanStyle Store! We sell high-quality goods in secure, tamper-evident packaging and deliver them quickly to satisfy consumers.

    • Time: ~15-20 minutes.

  5. Enter Bank Details.

    • Please enter your bank account details, including the IFSC code, along with
      other bank details (these should match your GST details).

    • Time: ~10-15 minutes.

  6. Create New Listing.

    • Listing products: Once account info and verification are complete, it is the final step.

    • Onboarding page: Click on Go to Listing.

    • Choose to have your own products.

    • Add the product name, photos, description, and price and inventory.

    • This will keep your product ready for launch.

    • Time: 30 minutes or several hours (depending on the amount of goods)

Documents

The documents required for Flipkart seller onboarding depend on the type of business. Here's the outline:

  • For Sole Proprietorship

    • Photo ID of the government (PAN, Passport, Voter ID or any other ID).

    • Present evidence (Phone bill, Bank statement, Electricity bill, lease agreement)

  • For a Private Limited Company.

    • Registrations of companies.

    • Incorporation certificate.

    • MOA (Memorandum of Association).

    • PAN of the company.

    • Address proof.

  • For Partnership Firm/LLP.

    • Identity documents of partners.
